Globalization accompanied by the continued growth of the European Union has both contributed to changes in the Ulricehamn Municipality and the daily lives of its citizens. For this reason, it is important for the leaders and the employees of the Municipality to have a strong understanding of the European Union and international affairs. The municipality’s international work is aimed at developing projects that take advantage of the cooperation amongst the twenty seven European Union countries. For this reason, the Ulricehamn Municipality seeks to partner itself with other countries to share and exchange resources for several development projects. In the municipality’s political development program for 2007-2010, international growth is listed as an important issue that will bolster the Municipality's development and hopefully guide Ulricehamn to become a leader in international efforts in Sjuhärad.International cooperation projectsUlricehamn Municipality has several ongoing projects which are financed by the EU and SIDA. Within the schools more than 30 different projects and exchanges take place every year. We also participate in several different international projects within different fields. We are always interested in starting new collaborations and exchange knowledge and good practice ideas with new partners. For more information about the international work taking place in Ulricehamn please get in contact with Katrin Högborn, International coordinator.
